Bright Key® Academic Dream Room Ribbon Cutting
Tour of the Ameris Bank Academic Dream Room at Selma Street Elementary held
DOTHAN, Alabama, April 29, 2016: On Wednesday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m., a ribbon cutting will be held at Selma Street Elementary for the Ameris Bank Academic Dream Room. Melanie Hill, program developer, will speak along with Bright Key® Selma Street resource coordinator, Jennifer Campbell. The Academic Dream Room will provide Selma Street students with opportunities for academic support and enrichment opportunities.
After several Bright Key® stakeholder meetings at the school, parents, teachers and community members selected tutoring as one of their focuses for the upcoming school year. The Academic Dream Room was born from these requests and will serve as a place for learning enhancement, providing one-on-one tutoring and enrichment.
Ameris Bank is the Academic Dream Room partner for Selma Street Elementary and will
provide support with decorating each room for the children including furnishing the rooms.
ABOUT BRIGHT KEY®
Bright Key®, a concept turning public schools into energized centers for services by adding programs focusing on the whole child, including his/her school, family and community, was approved on Feb. 17 by the Dothan City School Board. The school meetings are structured to allow the stakeholders to express what programs and opportunities they believe are needed for their child and its school.
